An alumni of Miranda House (Delhi), Xaviers Institute of Communication (Mumbai) and University of Sheffield (UK), Varija Bajaj is an epitome of grit & grace. She is an experienced artist with a demonstrated history of working in the apparel, fashion and construction industry.
She is also an education professional skilled in Business Planning, retail and Textiles. Designing Spaces through Interiors in a most innovative way is her another specialisation.
Varija Bajaj has been honoured with the Delhi Gaurav Award for her immense contribution to the fashion industry. She has also been awarded with the Women's Achievers Award for Fashion by VLCC. She has won ‘Woman Of The Year’ award by DLA Media & ’One Build India’ award.
Varija Bajaj has been included in the top 100 innovators by the WORLD CSR Congress for her contribution to disability awareness. Recently, she was awarded the Economic Times Labels Award for her brand ‘Office & You’.
Being a successful entrepreneur in an unorganized fashion sector, she is now a case study in ISB Hyderabad, the most reputed B-schools of the country. She also has lectures given at FMS Delhi and XIC Mumbai to her credit, apart from being a mentor with over 10 fashion colleges across the country. She is also on the advisory board of Amity University and International Polytechnic for Women.

THE BRAND : VARIJA
Varija Bajaj is an artist living out her own experience through her label VARIJA – which means Lotus in Sanskrit. Her inspiration is Indian yet her clientele is global.
“VARIJA that was conceptualised and began in 2004 was a business venture where I had designers working for me. I was into the management and looked after the strategies. But very soon I realized that the collection designed by my designers was much closer to the ramp than to the real people. It was ideal for models and petite figures. Also there was a huge market of not-so-perfect shapes and sizes waiting to be tapped and I decided to go for it.”
The famous fashion designer Varija Bajaj's label, Varija, is known for being enchanting through the use of bright traditional Indian colours. Her bridal styles are particularly popular as they are elaborate with delicate embroidery creating extravagant and classy looks. It is colourful, textured and finely detailed with a strong boho feel. The ‘Indian essence’ is her prime predominance. With a great eye for perfection, she creates ensembles which are perfect fusions giving her brand an international flavor.
Today, the designer retails her garments through 40 multi-brand stores pan India as well as through her flagship store in Defence Colony, New Delhi.
Varija’s designs are all about vibrant colours, young silhouettes and unconventional concepts with an element of fun. They are a collection for real customers and not just the ramp.
Varija likes to play around with a variety of weaves. she strongly believes that all her creations have to be fabric strong. Use of surface textures and unconventional fabric treatments she adds new dimension to the overall look of the collection.

VARIJA LIFE is an initiative, which focuses on recognizing abilities over disabilities of the differently-abled.
Under VARIJA LIFE, Varija Bajaj has been extensively involved in awareness programmes for persons with different abilities pan India, and now working towards consolidating all efforts under National Ability Summit.
Varija life also leads BE THE CHANGE campaign. It is a nation-wide en-devour to create Awareness, bring Acceptance and stir Action for an Inclusive Society. Through the support of schools, colleges and other forums, BE THE CHANGE is a revolution that has pledged for a better infrastructure, robust support system, conducive environment and a self dependent life for the physically and mentally challenged.
